How to: Create an iPhone custom ringtone

So you just bought that shiny iPhone, Apple 4S, and is enjoying every aspect of it ... but you can not understand one thing - how are you supposed to create a custom ringtone of your favorite song, and import it into this beautiful but sometimes it seems stubborn as hell of glass and steel body. Or, here's another example (this time a little more tragic) - which has had the iPhone in recent years and is enjoying every aspect of it, but just can not understand one thing - how are you supposed to create a custom ringtone out of your favorite song and actually use it? Well, it's time to end this misery, because there is no way to do this! Here is our step by step guide, which includes all the details you need to make feasible, but, dare we say, a little more complicated than the usual process. Of course, this guide is for users who want to create a tone of a file without DRM, which in our case means a music file, which were obtained from a location other than iTunes. 1. Things right, first things first - make sure you get a cup of coffee. You will need to stay awake during the execution of all steps. Hey, you want this custom ringtone or what? 2. Now you have to choose a DRM-free song that you want to create a ring. Drag the file into iTunes music library. Once you have selected the track in your iTunes library, you'll want to choose the exact part you want as a ringtone. Feel free to listen to your song, and record your desired start and end of the tune. Note that the passage should not exceed 40 seconds. 3. Once you are ready with that, please right click on the song and select "Get Info". In this pop-up, you need to go to "Options" tab and there you will see the options for establishing a "Start Time" and "Stop Time". You guessed it - this is the place where you have to enter the time I wrote a minute. 4. Now that you have done this, simply click "OK" to close the popup. From this position, again you must click on the right track, and this time you have to choose the "Create AAC version". As you noticed, the new version, AAC track has appeared, in addition to its old way. 5. Well, now you have a good new AAC file, right? Right click it and select "Show in Windows Explorer" for PC users or "Show in Finder" for users of Mac A new window will open with the selected song, but first let's return to the iTunes library and delete the AAC song from there. When prompted, you should choose the option "Keep Files". 6. Now we are left with an AAC file selected in Windows Explorer or the Finder, and actually this file is missing from the iTunes library. What we have to do now is change the extension of this file. For those who do not know what a file extension, we'll just mention it can quickly be seen as part of the name of the file, which defines the type of file. For Windows, file extensions may or may not be visible. If you see the part. " M4a ", written after the name of the AAC file in Windows Explorer, then you should right-click on the file and select" Rename ", after which you have to replace" m4a "to" m4r " , which obviously is the file extension from iTunes ringtones. However, if file extensions are not visible on your system, do the following: while in Windows Explorer, press the "Alt" key on your keyboard, and select "Tools-> Folder Options" from the menu that just appeared. Then, you need to go to "View" tab, and from there, you should uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and click "OK". This will make the file extension of AAC file on the screen, allowing you to change our instructions from the beginning of this step. Mac users, you simply right-click the AAC file in the Finder, select "Get Info" and then change the file extension. 7. Now that we have dealt with this difficult part, all we have to do is double click on file and, surprise - it automatically opens in iTunes, perfectly nested within the "tones" section. However, if by some chance the ring tone does not appear, it is probably due to "Tones" section is not willing to be active in iTunes. To show, you have to go to "Edit-> Preferences" on iTunes, and not have to activate the "Tone" in the list of "Sources". 8. The only thing left to do is sync iTunes with the iPhone, and your new ringtone, personalized appear as an option in Preferences-> Sound your IOS device-> tone menu. If not synchronized, which means you have to click your iPhone in iTunes, go to the "Tone" and select "Sync ringtones". This should do it. Well, I told you that is not among the simplest of processes, but it is certainly doable! And now, you have a favorite song as a ringtone set on the iPhone - do not know why this must sound like a big deal, but nothing is perfect, you know, including the world of iTunes in sync everywhere
